Timeline :: Certificate of Qualification in Social Work is introduced

Silhouette for no photo

A single award was introduced for all newly qualified social workers in 1971. Courses were available that were one or two year in length at different levels to cater for undergraduates, non-graduates, and graduates with or without degrees that were relevant.  The majority of courses were two years in length and continued the tradition of combining the teaching of theory and provision of practice placements.  An emphasis was placed on the Probation Service in many of the courses.
