Timeline :: University Diploma in Social Study replaces School Diploma

Silhouette for no photo

13 February: New university regulations were approved that replaced the School Diploma with a university qualification – a Diploma in Social Study, open to all Arts graduates ‘who devote at least one further year to specialised study and to practical training in social work’; meanwhile a university Certificate was to be offered to non-graduates. The Fifth Annual Report (1921-22) records that this was university recognition in a very short space of time - just four years - it continues: 'though the School remains an iundependent body, the students become University students.'
