Practitioner Research Projects

Staff in the social work departments of our six local authority partners have been invited to carry out small-scale research projects on issues relating to engagement with involuntary clients. The aim of the projects is to build relationships between academics and practitioners, thereby encouraging knowledge exchange.

Each Practitioner Research Project (PRP) will be allocated an academic mentor with relevant expertise from the University of Edinburgh. The University will also provide training in research methods for the practitioners.

The projects will take place over eight months from February to September 2010. Up to three projects will take place in each local authority.
