Philosophies of Learning in Social Work Education
The Scottish Social Services Council is funding research to support the review of social work education, which is currently underway. As part of this review, ten key questions were identified for further exploration, one of which relates philosophies of learning in social work education. This inquiry area is led by the University of Dundee and the University of Edinburgh. It will explore the methods that are used to teach social work in university and practice settings and the theories and principles that underpin these methods. It will also consider whether there is value in developing a shared philosophy of learning across the different social work programmes.
