Social Work: Research

It is vital that social work practice builds on a sound knowledge base which is informed by academic knowledge (both theories and research findings) and practice knowledge (gained from the insights of practitioners as well as those who use social work services).

Our publications demonstrate that we are concerned with the creation of knowledge at all levels: theory building, research findings, and policy and practice implications.

This section is divided into three main kinds of publication:

  • Books (text books and research books)
  • Reports (for government and voluntary agencies)
