Current Research & Teaching Interests

Teaching responsibilities include community care, social work and services for people with learning difficulties and for older people and their carers. Research interests centre around the principle of normalisation, the inter-disciplinary assessment of older people, the concept of 'adults at risk', hospital resettlement programmes (learning disability) and homelessness amongst young people.

Career History

Work experience as a social worker in a therapeutic community in Kent and in child psychiatry in Edinburgh. Worked with Barnardo's as a Senior Social Worker, Senior Residential Officer and Assistant Divisional Officer.
